5 Quick Tips for Working Out at Home

You want to get fit, you NEED to get fit, but maybe you don’t have the time or the finances to join a local gym.Maybe you don’t want the hassle of contracts and payment due dates adding to your already busy lifestyle, add in all those tedious trips to and from the workout center and you may be immediately discouraged by your lack of time and availability.

If this sounds like you or someone you know, continue reading so that you can take advantage of these 5 quick tips for working out at home.

    Create a designated fitness space

Here at Vaunte we believe that the first thing anyone should do when establishing an “in home” workout routine is to designate an appropriate fitness space. Make sure that you are giving yourself plenty of room to stretch and exercise without having to worry about damaging furniture or decor. Get rid of bulky, unused equipment and create some floor space. Keep your space functional and choose the right tools.

Organization is key. If you are into lifting weights, keep small racks for items such as weights, dumbbells or even your gym and workout sneakers. You don’t want those good quality weight lifting shoes becoming worn or damaged before you’ve had the opportunity of using them in your in home gym. Remember, damaged goods will notwork as effectively in your fitness routine.

If you do not have the space or storage for DVDs or videos consider using these free fitness apps.

Have a few go-to workouts memorized

A successful fitness routine means nothing without a successful workout, but with so many different programs and exercises, how do you know what will work best for you? How will you memorize all those exercises?

We have done the research for you and have found these easy to remember cardio and strength training workouts.

    Aerobic Workout

Aerobic routines and HIIT workouts burn large amounts of calories in short amounts of time as the cardio exercises stimulate both your heart rate and breathing rate.

If you haven’t tried a HIIT routine, we encourage you to do so now as they are extremely effective in weight loss.

    Strength Workout

Get strong and fit while improving posture, joint support, and reduce the risk of injury from everyday activities by adding strength training to your in home routine.

    Design a great DVD library

The first rule of building a great DVD library is to buy only what you need and know you are going to use. If your main fitness routines involve strength training then you don’t want to base your library off of yoga or cardio training videos, right? Make sure you read reviews before purchasing. Just because a DVD describes itself as “the next best thing in at home strength training” does not necessarily mean that it is true. Take advantage of the knowledge of customers who have already purchased and used the product. Check online to see if there are any previews of the DVD available for you to watch before spontaneously purchasing. Finally, consider buying used DVDs and videos. More often than not the videos work just as well a brand new purchased DVD but come at a significantly lower price.

    Stream online workouts

If you have a Netflix, Amazon Prime or Hulu Plus account, use them to your in home workout advantage. These three online streaming services offer a huge variety of routines that you could have instant access to. If you don’t already have an account with one of these providers, be sure to purchase your membership today.

    Download some apps

Complete daily workout routines straight from your mobile devices and smartphones. The marketplace where you download apps is filled with apps that meet the exercise guidelines of a variety of workouts and exercise types. Some free to download apps include The Johnson & Johnson Official 7-Minute Workout and Nike+ Training Club. Designing and implementing daily workout routines at home doesn’t have to be difficult or costly.

The task is made easy with the use of DVD libraries, downloadable apps and streaming videos online. Skip the gym and get your fit on in the comfort of your own home by following these 5 quick tips.
